Imagine waking up at 2 am to the sound of something breaking into your screened in porch! Now imagine finding out it was an alligator!
According to Fort Myers police, an alligator did exactly this last Friday night. He ripped through a lanai screen and camped out on a family's back porch. The family called authorities and the Fort Myers Police Department encountered an 8-foot alligator in the early hours of the morning basically inside this family's house.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Officers came and captured the gator who has now been relocated.
"At approximately 2am Officers were dispatched to a call of an alligator that had torn through a lanai screen and was camped out on a residents back porch. Officers Hernandez, Beiner, Martins and King are pictured here with the culprit"..
